the bin lids clip down tight, there frm local diy store

been told that slugs are like mice can get into an through the smallest of holes,

so you to find something they dnt like to stop them.

the corn is natural corn an is bought frm cosworth an put straight into the bins

so there not already in the bags.....

THAT TELLS ME I WOULD WANT TO GET IN TOUCH WITH COSWORTH AND ASK A FEW QUESTIONS THERE IF YOUR BINS ARE IN YOUR LOFT ALREADY THERE IS A FAIR CHANCE THEY HAVE A COATING OF FEATHER DUST ON THEM WHICH WOULD NOT PROOVE HELPFULL TO A GREADY SLUG TRYING TO GET A FREE FEED

I have had the problem in the past. You have already got the answers. Grit, any thing will do but pigeon grit is wonderful because it contains salt. Besides, it will encourage you to change your grit more often. Beer is very good as someone has already told you but if you are getting those little black jobs use garden lime on the soil and the lawn. It will have the added benefit of conditioning you soil as well. If the birds peck around, the added calcium will be good for them. Slugs are known to carry all kinds of nasty things. Tape worm is only one of them. Slug pellets work well but they can do an awful lot of damage to, not only your birds, but birds in general. So, be very careful where you put them. Slug pellets are also very bad for dogs. I don't know about cats.
