  • Message = I'm looking for historical information about messenger pigeons in the 19th century. Specifically, I wanted to know whether a ship bound for the USA in 1841 might take a pigeon with it when it left Aberdeen which could be released in Thurso to carry news of the safe arrival there back to Aberdeen. If there are any books I could consult, I'd be grateful to be told of them. It's a rather specialised question so I'll understand if you don't have an answer. Thanks in advance.
