I had a very well bred cock on loan last year with his hen which he had been paired to before 2 eggs every nest but never fill

 

 

I gave a hen to a friend for breeding in November and said I wanted her back as he wanted early youngsters from her he had 2 eggs from her 1 small soft shelled 1 very small so he returneed her

 

 

I paired these two birds together never expecting anything and got 2 normal eggs just checked nest and I have 1 youngster the other egg is blank how weird
