THE FIFER Posted November 25, 2007 Report Posted November 25, 2007 I agree as I said about shu rules bieng implimented as long as you are a member, but you can have rules like by-laws to suit your own club yes as long as they have been passed by the shu, and the shu have the rules laid down for the procedure on disbanding clubs or feds, and you cant change them,
DOVEScot Posted November 25, 2007 Report Posted November 25, 2007 yes as long as they have been passed by the shu, and the shu have the rules laid down for the procedure on disbanding clubs or feds, and you cant change them, True but the SHU should help and encourage clubs to exist, seems like a bit of skulduggery going on if the previous posts are true :-/
THE FIFER Posted November 25, 2007 Report Posted November 25, 2007 True but the SHU should help and encourage clubs to exist, seems like a bit of skulduggery going on if the previous posts are true :-/ yes no one wants to see clubs splitting, but if the members fall out what can the shu do, if clubs put something to the vote then the members should accept the winning vote, but this doesnt happen, and if things are not getting run correct as per rules, then you can appeal to the shu, and they will put things as they should be, but some now dont agrre by them, so the pigeon game these days are just not very good for the future, everyone must go by the book, its the only way, and if there is a rule you think is wrong then you put a proposal in to get it sorted, after all its the members that make the rules and change them, but if the majority say no change then this must be accepted.

Aye but the guys in this case seem to be making decisions about closing a club they have left and went to another, while not allowing others to join the club they are leaving and letting it remain open for others to use.
THE FIFER Posted November 25, 2007 Report Posted November 25, 2007 a club cannot be dissolved unless a two-thirds majority of its members give their consent in writing which should be obtained at a special meeting convened for the purpose of such dissolution, club assests must be realised and divided equally amongst all members who are free from debt to the club.
gangster Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 SHU SHOULD INTERVENE IN THIS CASE AND KEEP THE CLUB OPEN.....IF MEMBERS ARE WILLING TO JOIN THEN THOSE WHO HAVE CHOSEN TO FLY ELSEWERE SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO RUN THE RULE........A SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS WHEN ITS ALLOWED TO HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!

Correct, it is just sheer rottenness to stop others keeping the club open!!!! I guess there is money to be had for leavers by disbanding the club????
Guest WINGS 04 Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 Correct, it is just sheer rottenness to stop others keeping the club open!!!! I guess there is money to be had for leavers by disbanding the club???? TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE THERE IS JUST UNDER £1000 IN THE BANK PLUS A PC AND PRINTER AND RINGERS AND TROPHIES TO BE SOLD I AM THE PRESIDENT BUT ALWAYS LEST TO GET TOLD ANYTHING
DOVEScot Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE THERE IS JUST UNDER £1000 IN THE BANK PLUS A PC AND PRINTER AND RINGERS AND TROPHIES TO BE SOLD I AM THE PRESIDENT BUT ALWAYS LEST TO GET TOLD ANYTHING It's always the same, greed over the fact that someone else might keep the club going. Can you not call a special open meeting or extra ordinary general meeting and resolve matters there, ask shu official to attend as observer.
retired Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE THERE IS JUST UNDER £1000 IN THE BANK PLUS A PC AND PRINTER AND RINGERS AND TROPHIES TO BE SOLD I AM THE PRESIDENT BUT ALWAYS LEST TO GET TOLD ANYTHING i have always been under the understanding that the president of the club is the most powerful in the club and in my years as secretary i never had to report to the chairman but to the president of the club first i may be wrong or you may do it different but i hope you resolve it in a manner that pleases yourself we have a club here that members have been trying to disband for years but som eof us have stuck our feet in and keep it alive although it is not functioning at the minute when a club is gone its gone and chances of getting it back are slim which is why our non functioning club is better than a dead one( we still have 26 members for it )

retired Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 Agree with the above, but why is your club not fuctioning with 26 members :-/ it was a midweek club, the following reasons no one wanting to do any work members not sending there pigeons as it is not affiliated to any federation due to being a midweek club.

retired Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 so is the club not registered with the shu?? i should hope not Fifer, the SHU would need to extend there radius by about 300 miles. The fees are paid each year to keep the club registered with the RPRA

retired Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 sorry i was going by a post further up saying the shu should intervene to keep the club going so thought u were with the shu, so take it you are with the rpra, the club this thread was opened because of i feel should be helped by the SHU, our club should be helped by its members getting off there *expletive removed* and working. I would be much happier in the SHU rather than the RPRA but i have had that argument before on here ;D

Chatrace Posted November 28, 2007 Report Posted November 28, 2007 Our club has it written if there are 2 members wanting to fly the club and its funds stay with the club. To keep people from just walking and coming back for a vote after they quit we also have a rule that states you don't have a vote if you didn't fly in eighter old birds or young birds in the year before the meeting and or vote, If we do decide to close down the Funds and any money from the sale of all club property or equipment is divided among all active members by parts, to get a part you have to have flown in eighter old birds or young birds to get a part for each year you belonged. Example John belonded to club 10 years and flew 9 he gets 9 parts George belonged to club 11 years and only flew 7 he gets 7 parts as long as he is a paid club member, but not flying so as it is now the funds would be divided by 16 to determine what a part is worth.
EAGLEOWL Posted November 28, 2007 Report Posted November 28, 2007 IN ONE WORD NO like i said i dont know the reason why, they have decided to not let new members join sounds like to me ,if im not flying in the club no ones flying in it , ,and i thought this sport needed has many new members as possible . surley they have given you a reason why they want to close the club, and will not let you into there club.
