Well I know the individual membership has gone up from £5 to £10,now that's inflation!!,perhaps someone could vote against that!,they clearly don't want people to join unless they are in a club,with the state of the sport you would think they would want to encourage people,not put them off!

Phil Legally speaking in order to show pigeons you must be a member of either the NPA or RPRA,then unless you solely choose to enter open shows you have to join a club too [paying club subs also],many of us are members of 2,3 or even 4 clubs,it is surprisingly costly when you add it all up!!
pjc Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 Chrissy, you don't have to be a member of a club to show unless the show is members only! If you wish you can be a member directly with the RPRA, SHU, WHU, NPA etc to obtain rings and then show at open shows where you don't need to be a member. All the major shows are open to anybody registered to a union, some society's like the Midlands hold all there club shows as open shows so you only become a member if you wish to or want to compete for the trophy's. My point was £10 to join a governing body is not a lot, compare it to joining other sports or Hobby's.
