jakjak Posted August 23, 2008 Report Posted August 23, 2008 My club has just been refused an 'Awards for all claim' on the grounds that we are affiliated to the RPRA. However, we did not tell them. There is other clubs within the RPRA who have been successsful.........question is, how did they become successful in their claim??? Any advice welcome ( I want ETS, but i aint buying it)LOL
pjc Posted August 23, 2008 Report Posted August 23, 2008 Main reason for clubs being turned down is there own rules or stateing they abide by the rules of the RPRA which allows for non acceptance of member applications!

Guest spin cycle Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 i had some exp. of lottery grant applications before i started in pigeons. when i joined my club the subject of applying arose but i said little as i thought that because we had a radius we would fail the 'inclusiveness' test (basically the club would have to be open to anyone). as it turned out i think the rpra's own rules on propose/second membership also mean clubs fail and as they are part of the compulsory rules i can't see a way round it at present. clubs were getting grants but i think someone in the 'anti ets' told the lottery board ( something in VFTR last year i think) (and it wasn't me). there may be a solution by having a rule that 'as long as a club stays within the law it can opt out of the compulsory rules' . this would enable progressive clubs to modify membership rules to make them eligible for lotto grants....but it may also allow clubs with 25 members or less to opt out of ets. this is very much my 'take' on the situation and as such may not be accurate...i'm sure someone will correct me
jakjak Posted August 24, 2008 Author Report Posted August 24, 2008 will it make you feel better if you grass them off for getting there ets eh :'( :'( its called tufff shi-tty yeh, thanks for that, my 11 year old daughter comes on here, I was asking for advice, not stupid comments, thankfully this site has 99% good members.
THE FIFER Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 you can be affiliated to a larger organisation, BUT you must have your own set of CLUB rules, and one thing on them Must be if you disband your club , anything left after settlement will go to another organisation similar to yours,
Guest strapper Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 fifer is 100% correct i know...they refused us last year on this...this year we won our grant...still members wasnt satisfied. i did everything by myself and won us it..as sec... guess who wont be doing it again for the club. we spent our grant this last week. a secretarys job is a thankless one.

pjc Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 the club or federation who applied for the grant would be responsible as there will be a have been more than one person having signed the application as well as it haveing been proposed at meetings etc.
