Found A Stray And Need Advice Please

Hi there,I'm an non fancier but I'm passionate about wildlife, I'm needing some advice,I spotted astray pigeon that has orange and green legs bands, unfortunately I cannot get near the bird to check out it's bands, I know this is someones pet and might want it returned, my 1st thought was to phone the sspca but I thought that I might get good advice from you guys,is there any tips how to catch the bird?it has not landed in my garden(I don't have a garden)but it has been living with feral birds, any advice would be greatly appreciated. I live in dundee.

If you can't catch the bird just leave it and it will eventually find it's own way home.

Be done on the other hand if you do manage to get it just write down the ring no and display it on here and then we can take it from there.

Thank you very much, if I do catch it how long can it be kept for?,would a box with air holes be fine?, I wouldn't want to cause it stress, again, thank you.

All it will need is a pick of rice or wheat ,barley ECT .water is important as long as it has a drink ,as I have said

If you get it's number on here someone will be in touch very quickly .

I put out some uncooked rice and lentils and a bowl of water with more than 1.25 inches, the rice is gone and unfortunately the bowl has been stolen,I will put more out tonight, the bird has been here for more than a week now and doesn't look like he's going anywhere, I have a friend who is a photographer and he may do me a favour and use his great camera and camouflage gear to try and take good photo's of the birds rings to get the numbers, I tried to call it over but using like a.dog sound,I have no idea if you can call a pigeon over. I thank you all very much for advice.
