Hi,

I am looking to carry out a project on one of my lofts before the winter, and in the cause of that I am looking for pictures, descriptions or ideas for the best layout for a stock loft section. I want to have individual breeding boxes, and would be interested in peoples experiences and thoughts on them in design terms.

Is an aviary attachment necessary / desirable ? What is the ideal size (if any) ?

Is there an automated watering or feeding system out there ?

Many Thanks in advance,

Steve

I believe that any birds that are kept in a stock loft definately benefit from the access to an aviary Steve, so that would be a must for me. My aviary is 6x3 and 7ft from top to bottom and the stock birds have access 24/7. Steve Burton uses and manufactures automated water supplies for lofts but not sure if he is on here but he's definately on one of the other sites if you want to contact him. :animatedpigeons:

A friend of mine once made his stock lofts similar to those at natural breeding station, I cannot say what it's like as I've never been but from my understanding it is just like an avairy. The three years that followed while he was racing he was nearly unstoppable, and the young in the bowl was the healthiest I've ever seen, even in the harshes winter. If I was to make a stock loft it would be similar, but with individual flights.

Someone already mentioned the Natural Breeding Lofts and sent this link to me - old but interesting - just like a factory there !!!

Cheers anyway,
