Why do pigeons peck about the roads, had 2 babies ran over and killed today, gutted and sodslaw 1 was my grandaughts favourite, are my pigeons lacking in something ??

They get all of this, thats why im gutted, its a mystery thanks for replies.

they might not be eating it mix some red grit / oystershell grit / and a crumbled clay block in with there feed then there more likely to pick it up

its the salt of the road they like have had a dozen or so run over on the raod here over the years. The road is level with the loft roof so easy for them to fly onto , mines also get what they want but some get into a habit of picking about the road usually with fatal consequences. Dont let your young ones roam about out for a fly say 1 hr get them back in do this twicew a day and make sure there always ready to come in when called they wont have time then to pick about roads gutters etc
