bewted Posted August 22, 2008 Author Report Posted August 22, 2008 point is if there that obvious in the sky there easy prey for hawks makes no differance as hawks will take any colour as there not prejudice !!!
pjc Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 until yesterday non of my whites had been hawked but had a latebred out with the others yeasterday that came down before the others. I asume it was just coincidence and would have happened to whichever colour landed first, but as soon as he landed got knocked straight off by Sparrow Hawk into next doors garden. I just happened to be stood in another lofts doorway and she stood on the bird and looked at me, I shouted at her and she took off so did the bird! The bird was missing last night with no sign this morning but has appeared sometime today with small gash on its neck from tallons. Don't think it matters what colour they are if they are hungry!
Guest Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 makes no differance as hawks will take any colour as there not prejudice !!! Exactly,I had lots of birds hawked all colours, the only white one I had is still here. Some inexperienced or predjudiced judges sometimes use the old "hawk bait" excuse not to place white birds just because they don't like them
OLDYELLOW Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 i have whites in my birds only lost one around loft and other 2 still been raced , pigeons will win in every colour no doubt about it
