Due to not racing until next week I thought by 2.45pm the skies would be pretty much clear of race birds so decided to let my ybs out. No sooner had my 30 gone up and batch of about 50 birds joined them. They stuck together for a good half hour flying off in one direction out of sight and then returning to fly off in another direction out of sight. They must have flown back and forward over the top of my loft about 15 times or more with the main batch finally breaking away and my own birds hitting the rooftops. When mine came down they went straight into the bath and I noticed a stranger amongst them. It was wearing a yellow rubber and a blue telephone ring which had the name THEO on it. When I tried to call the number a voice stated only the name THEO and then a bleep as if it was going onto a fax machine and nothing else? After a head count of my own birds I noticed I was one short too which must have been dragged away by the main batch???

The ring number of the bird is SU13AF1671,light chequer. On checking liberation times I was surprised to see that ANGUS FED were racing from ARNISTON and the birds libbed at 8.15am! God knows how six and a half hours later they were flying around Edinburgh????

If you know THEO from the ANGUS FED can you ask him to get in touch? Cant be too many lads called THEO in one Fed as its not a common name so perhaps someone on here knows him? One things for sure, there will be a few late birds from that race!

Yes that's the number on the ring I have been trying. Now its giving a couple of rings then saying Theo and then nothing else. Sounds like it could be going onto an answer machine of sorts although it doesn't say anything re leaving a message???? Have now left a message on it so will wait and see what happens? Thanks anyway.
