Guest Shannon Posted February 27, 2013 Report Posted February 27, 2013 Found some good reading in this section. Well done! And I need to add that I was weaned during the '60s on British racing pigeon writers who advocated the old way of breeding good pigeons: the likes of Osman, Barker, and Hutton. Hutton was my favorite hnads down. Notice the use of "hands" here without mentioning the "other" hand man. Those good men laid the foundation of my breeding theories and approach during my racing days. Then along came Dutch and Belgian writers. They gave us some insights as well: http://www.polidororacinglofts.com/Informative_Pigeon_Articles.html Take a look. It's worth your time. I liked the one entitled "Luck." Didn't share it here as a quote as it would open up a serious possibility of a libel case. Say what? One of my favorite pigeon writers these days is an American, although I ended up at this Forum to read what you Brits have to say. I remember when we used to drink a few beers and joke about the day an American would head to Europe (particularly Belgium) to grade pigeons. Most of my buddies would say, "Never happen, ever!" I had to agree but then along comes Bill "The Book" Richardson. OK, he didn't make it to Belgium but take a look at his articles that cover breeding. Bill is an engineer for an American defense contractor so be ready to "work" a wee bit to glean some golden nuggets. You won't be disappointed. http://ehofkens.com/index.html Shannon
