Rhian Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Calling all WHU members. Just found an injured bird with a ring stating WHU 2009 in my garden. Looks like it has an injured wing, slightly droopy and a little blood, doesn't appear able to fly. I've chased off two cats as I don't want the bird to come to harm, but can't take it in as I have a dog and am scared of birds (hence haven't been able to read the rest of the ring, although it has a T in it.) Called WHU who are not open until monday. I live in Ystrad Mynach near Caerphilly any help advice greatly appreciated
Rhian Posted June 5, 2009 Author Report Posted June 5, 2009 Hi, Mr Pope has his phone turned off. I will attempt to put it in a box until morning, so at least the birds / foxes can't get to it. Is there a special way to pick it up ? will it peck me, or more to the point will it hurt ? I don't want to hurt the bird, but really don't like them, but can't leave it out there with the predators .
pjc Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 if its injured it won't struggle just pick it up with both hands and it won't peck you. Thank you for taking the trouble to help it. Phil
