demolition man Posted July 3, 2012 Author Report Posted July 3, 2012 Lerwick - 03 July 2012 After careful consideration the NRCC convoyer and the committee have decided to bring the pigeons back to the relevant marking stations. The weather for the forseeable future does not look like it will change with mist and fog all down the North East side of the country. We feel it would be in the best interests of the pigeons to bring them home. The convoyer will have the birds on the ferry this evening for an overnight crossing arriving at Aberdeen around 7.30 am Wednesday morning, they will then drive back to the hauliers yard where the birds will be fed and watered for delivery back to the marking stations on Thursday at a time yet to be confirmed. Taken from the NRCC website

john cumming Posted July 4, 2012 Report Posted July 4, 2012 There being brought home fella good call i would say folks, the long term forecast is not good for the central north sea and shetland basin areas, nor the the moray firth areas and for the record all our flights from aberdeen to offshore installations are still on indefinite hold because of fog p.s: aberdeen harbour has been closed as well because of fog??must be bad if the harbours closed? the birds might be delayed getting into aberdeen yet lads!! john
