I acquired a new family to try with my team of taskers this season apart from 3 pair I have crossed. One of the pairs a kept pure a pair of yearlings have appeared to be some what crap feeders, however there very keen on sitting on the young bird. Everything seemed fine upto ringing then they decided to feed the single reared baby less and less, the baby doesn't call for food or nothing, I have over 25 babies in the nest and this is the only case with every other young bird being nice n fat. Would you suggest separating this pair and give each one a more experienced partner?

The droppings around the nest are like brown marbles with a White cap so very much doubt anything health wise?

The problem may be the youngster, and not the parents. The parents may have spotted a 'wrong-un'. Try a straight swap between a 'normal' youngster and this one. Swap will soon find out if the other pair behave the same towards it.
