JohnQuinn Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 Please take a minute and read me.In my OTHER life i am a Support Asst wth LAMH, or The Lanarkshire Assc for Mental Health. The funding for our work primarily comes from the local council. This is of course a time of cutbacks and we as an organisation are suffering as a result, so a working group has been formed to raise awareness of our work and do Fundraising, not just to sustain us at the levels we are at now but in order to develop new forms of support more suited to individual needs. I was invited to become a member of the working group and we had our very first meeting this afternoon. We got an outline of what the funding would allow us to do and the logistics of how we would operate as a group who all work in different offices. Anyway the next meeting will be more about ideas and how to transform ideas into financial contributions that can be relied upon on an ongoing basis, this i hope is where you come in. I welcome any ideas you guys have on fundraising activities that we could do to raise funds on an annual/ongoing basis. To give you a wee hint of the numbers involved, earlier this year we asked all our clients, where if they became unwell again would they like to be treated, there were 3 options offered to them, at home, in hospital or in a halfway house. In other words somewhere they have the security of company without the rigours of going into an acute hospital ward. This project could cost in the region of £500,000.Cheers, John.

JohnQuinn Posted January 28, 2012 Author Report Posted January 28, 2012 Was at another meeting on Wednesday and we now have an account with EASYFUNDRAISING.ORG.UK. This is a website where you can purchase goods from the Top online businesses like Argos E-Bay Amazon M&S etc etc etc. It is a simple way to contribute to your chosen charity, every time you make a purchase through this site a small contribution is made to the charity of your choice. Obviously i would like everyone to choose LAMH as there benefactor and help us to progress in our care of those who are Mentally Ill in Lanarkshire. This is a link to the site which is self explanatory, thanks in advance for your continued supports us in our venture. http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/ PS. Only waiting on one or two payments from the sale to come in then we can get the cheque presentation done.
JohnQuinn Posted January 28, 2012 Author Report Posted January 28, 2012 It is also helpful for our profile to get as many people onto our mailing list as possible, to get onto it please send your e-mail address to me by PM and i will give it to the co-ordinator. You will NOT be bombarded with information but i'm certain you will come across some very useful information that will be of benefit to you at some stage.
