Guest evilscotsman Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 im thinking about doing a trial run with a deep litter system over the winter to help keep the doo's somewhat warmer what i was wondering is if there is any product i could get to spread on the floor to kill off any nastys lurking for some reason lime rings a bell but then it also rings a bell about it drying out there feathers ? i was going to harkers loft treatment but im wondering if there is anything else i could use. thanks folks

Does job on bacteria, virus fungus etc., but is also an insecticide, killing eggs, larva and adults. Still to check it out, but there is an agricultural product made from food-grade garlic, sold in granules, that does a similar job. No idea of price, but I'd like to try it over closed season.
