Like most people I feed several types of corn through the week but, as has already been said, it is contented pigeons that win races. I went to see someone's pigeons a couple of weeks ago. The guy asked me to try to tell him why he was not winning. The first thing I noticed was that he had me walk straight into the loft and then he proceeded to grab birds for me to look at. What a plonker. The birds were scared stiff of him and they must have been very nervious in their home. I reckon this sort of person will never become good at this sport. To me a good Fancier will show proper respect for his birds and instead of intimidating them give them a few peanuts of something to keep them comfortable in your presance. The feeding is far less important than the birds' love of home in my opinion.
