Guest Mav Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 Hello all, Just thought i would add a couple of photos of mine. As most will know i have only just started pigeon fancying and have recently got a shed which is slowly turning into a loft, Strange really as i did not like calling a loft at first as it looked just like a shed , but its starting to look a bit more like a loft now. (What do you think.) Around 2 weeks ago i got my first pair of birds from a good friend and there should be a photo of them sitting on the late trap below, but yesterday i mangaed to get a second hand Sputnik trap after visiting a breeder buy sale. I will be treating the out side maybe next weekend (Did a little in the bottom corner for a colour check in the photo.) I have painted the vents, top one anyway and a couple more with the first coat drying then i will cut a bit more out of the loft for fitting at the front bottom section, Bottom one thats fitted at the moment has not been cut out and is only just sitting there. I would like to get into my local club and think i have found the one i want to join out of three in this area. The only problem i can see is getting a team together for this year as most seem to have had there young ones for this year and have only paired up to cover there needs and to put in the sales. The other thing is at sales they are very exspensive for a new starter. I dont mind spending a bit put i dont want to spend hundreds setting up in my first year. More of my story as and when it happerns. Mav.
Guest youngboy Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 well nice little intro there! lovly ybs by the way and very very neet back garden and shed! i wish you all the best in the near future may i suggest when you go to you new club try buy a kit of ybs for stock of a top fanier there! if hes genuine he wont charge you too much! all the best!
Guest Freebird Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 Best of luck Mav. Something to consider would be a meshed frame the size of your door to put in with door open when the better weather comes along then the loft will be nice and airy with the security of the mesh. Hope the youngsters do well for you.
Guest Mav Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 Hello Again, I am very lucky really to have a garden as large as I have, So many houses these days are packed in so tight that theres no room for a shed never mind a loft. Our garden is about 60ft x 45ft ish We have an 4 bed ex council house and with most of the veg was grown in the garden years ago, with big familys to feed on a very low income and we all know its grown at the supermarket now!!!. The person i feel for is the member Mamun2a from Bangladesh, if hes happy with what hes got then i should be well pleased with what i have. When a pair of hinges are to exspensive or difficult to find. Suppose then it will be a ETS system before i can start racing, Still got to find out more about them to, Mind you i think they have a factory here in Spalding. More soon. Mav.
