can remember last years Sennen Cove race had 2 Irish birds in both reported and both cleared of there own accord some weeks after , i'd imagine they made there own way back home , was a weird day here on Saturday lovely start all be it a tad cold bright sunshine then 2.30 pm sea fret came over sun disappeared had loads of drizzle so birds were locked out by the weather with poor visibility , saw plenty of north roads heading down most of the day around 8pm i was watching the sky's and a batch of around 200 birds flew from west to east to the coast probably looking for coast to find a bearing , certainly strange especially as visibility was shocking , your always going to get a hard race when there's north and east in the wind and sunshine the sun heats up the cold sea and creates fret , still can't fault the race controllers as line of flight would of been fine at liberation , only thing i could fault is why do they liberate so late in France when 6.15 here would be 7.15 there so at least one hour of light wasted and birds in the heat longer enroute home :)
