Guest Anna Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 HelloWe've had a very tame brown pigeon on our balcony for the last couple of days. He has a metal ring on his leg with the code: 10GED08R. There is nothing stamped on his wings. We can't find any reference to how to find his owner with a code like this. Any thoughts would be gratefully received.Anna
OLDYELLOW Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 are you sure this is the ring number ?????????

If you can post all of the letters and numbers on the ring, starting with the first letter followed by the numbers we should be able to help you out

Guest Anna Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 Great, thanks for all the replies! We are in Hackney, London. The tag is all the identifying markings we can find. We are not sure what to do with the bird. I think perhaps I will try and call local pigeon groups (or whoever I can google) and see if there is an owner registered called Ged around. We are going away tomorrow for 4 days, and are not sure what to do with the bird. Any suggestions on who I might call would be really greatly appreciated. Thanks for all the help! Anna
OLDYELLOW Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 as a personalised ring it makes finding the owner more difficult , however you could contact grahamgiddings@aol.com , and ask for fancy clubs in your area , and get in contact with the sectary who will hopefully know to whom the bird belongs to , thanks for caring for this bird
