Hi,

Last night I uploaded the first part of the revised Mini-Sites Admin System :)

Numerous late nights have been put into rewriting the system to make it better in virtually every area, and work is still being carried out on some new and existing features which are not available on the new system as of yet. If you are the administrator to a Mini-Site on Pigeonbasics.com please post up what you think of the new system, for better or worse I'd like to know where it needs improving :)

All Administrators will be required to login to the system before the new racing season to acknowledge that they wish to keep their club or federation on the system for this year. - there's nothing worse than seeing empty/unused mini-site :(

I'll be posting on this topic when new updates are finished :)

Thanks all :)

The next update will be soon, however proably not before the weekend.

I've had a few more applications for mini-sites, I'm having trouble with getting in contact (returned emails) from Kevin (kevmaria), and also Andy Frame (a.frame46). If either of you read this could you contact me again with another email address as the one which you provided doesnt work.

CAN WE GET NEWS ETC ON THE MINI SITES NOW RICHARD,

If you have a new item to put on please email it to me, just while the news script is unavailable.

Update Today 5 March

I have enabled the Photo Admin to the Admin System. This script has caused me many headaches getting the security and full functionality as I want. Phew!

I've tested it myself, but if you have any problems please post them up so I can fix it for everyone :)

Update 12th March 2006

I have uploaded the News script to the Mini-Site Admin System. You can perform all the functions for news now.

As before, any problems, let me know :)

I've just archived all of the results for 2005.

It will appear they have been deleted, however they simply have been moved off the database, and stored independently. When I come to updating the mini-sites front door, on the results page there will be a link to archived results.

All of the upgrade work is now done. That is the Race  Results and Send Result to the Press pages are now completed.

So all should be ready for racing starting this weekend :)

I'll now get to creating all the help pages and changes to the front end. :)

I was notified of a small bug with the race result yesterday. This consisted of if you entered a birdage as '2,123' (with a comma) all that would be saved to the system would be '2'. I've uploaded the fix for this so you will get an error message if you enter anything but a numeric character in either the birdage or members sent fields.

As always if you have a problem, or think that the system is doing something wrong, let me know and I'll take a butchers :)

This website is absolutley fantastic , i haven't been a member for long but I started a mini-site for my club (Todmorden hs) as I'm their press officer and president. The mini-site is just so easy,I write the race result in and send it to the press and bingo! its in next weeks paper, the lads at the club love it. Although some of the older boys aren't clued up with the computers, I invite them to my house (over the weekend) and show them our mini-site and how to go-on with the computer, its all free what more could you ask for.

A BIG THANKYOU to the WEBMASTER from all at Todmorden hs. ;) ;) ;D ;D

Thanks Jason, its great to hear that your using your Mini-Site to its full potential :)

I had an email an hour or two ago about the 'Send results to press' a Scottish club had been included in the English results in the fancy press :-/

So I've made the update that County, and Country are now passed in the information sent to the papers. Of course this will only work if admin's have put county and country information in the relevant fields on the Mini-Site Details page.

Hi,

Thanks Scott. I'll look into adding a counter when come to do the front end :)

I've just finished updating the details page.

Everyone who admins a mini-site please go and update your 'Parent Org'. There is now a drop down box containing all of the (feds if you are a club, combines if you are a fed...) on the mini-site system. If your parent organisation isnt in the list there still is the text box to put yours in.

The difference will be that, if you choose from the drop down box your parent org's mini-site will be linked from yours, and yours from your parent mini-site. This also creates the possibility in the future to link your club results to the fed results, etc..

If your the admin to a fed mini-site please ask all of your clubs who have a mini-site to set the fed in this way, if they havent already.

I'm just on updating the front end index page to display the linked pages, so it will be ready when you update your details as above :)

Oh yeah, I uploaded 3 new help pages within the mini-site system yesterday; so we're getting there :)
