Webmaster Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 If there is enough interest / enough entrants I would be very willing to get a trophy organised for the winner of such accolade. I think its a little down the line yet though
THE FIFER Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 I WOULD BE WILLING TO GET A TROPHY FOR THIS AS IT'S A GOOD IDEA. THE FIFER
Guest Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 We could maybe have a few, for different age groups, all just put in a fe quid to buy a few trophies etc.
westy Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 yeah sbelbin that would be good mabey age groups like under 21s under 50 and over 21 50+
liverpool_boy Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 iam up for winning that lol good luck all
jimmy white Posted November 23, 2005 Author Report Posted November 23, 2005 SO AM I LIVERPOOL BOY, ;D ;D ;D i was thinking more of a poll to decide the young fancier of the year , with all things considered, age, amount of birds, how long theve had them, size of loft, anything at all that might sway the forum, not neccessary the best results, i would be willing to go half with fifer, buying a trophy, and a forum certificate to all that entered , would cost very little , but would mean a lot to the young fancier
Silverdale Lofts Posted November 23, 2005 Report Posted November 23, 2005 ill donate a prize for the young fancier of the year
westburylofts Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 Can i just say that please do not belive what others on this site say in response to this statement, i am only 14 years old, and cannot afford a loft so i use a orange box, i have two pigeons they went to every race this year, have done quite well with them winning 20 x 1st and 19x 2nds from 10 race's hope this might be good enough to win your comp for young fancier of the year. This is true i would not lie to you all ask me dad, Mr Bull RAY
westburylofts Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 Sorry about that. I do think this is a great idear, and will support it in anyway we can. RAY

AlanWilkins Posted December 6, 2005 Report Posted December 6, 2005 why not have it on that coefficient thing and people send there result in weekly
Guest Posted December 7, 2005 Report Posted December 7, 2005 We have a programme for the computer which works results out on a co-efficient basis, we use this for the awards for the Help a Beginner Programme. It would be very easy to work the results out for us, if the races were put in categories, say 100 150 200 and 250. The results could be e-mailed to me on a weekly basis and I could publish the tally on say a fortnightly basis.
andy Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 I have a trophy here for young forum fancier of the year to donate. I think Hyacinth idea on co-efficient is a good idea also an age limit of under18 at the start of next season. ps:Just missed the entry age myself...........
Guest Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 I JUST MISSED IT TO ANDY :-/ MAKE IT UNDER 21 AND WE'L BE OK :D LOL
Guest Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 that would be a good idea for this forum!!!!!

Guest Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 Why not Bruno, but there aren't many Junior flyers in the USA
westburylofts Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 COME ON LET'S TAKE THIS ON TO THE NEXT LEVEL, HOW ABOUT HAVING DIFFERANT GROUPS, Young Fancier under 16s Sprint loft middle distance loft Long Distance loft Just a few idears what do the rest of the members think ????. RAY
showman Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 I think Jimmys' posted reply no. 10 is about right. A few more things should be taken into account than a race co-efficient. Also, whilst we all try to encourage young people into any hobby/past-time we pursue, we should not forget those who are of a more 'mature' age. Support and encourage all ages, if they are new starters, is what I say. As some of you may remember, earlier in the year, I set up a new starters scheme to help new fanciers. This was carried in the BHW and the R.P., with details of my contact phone, address, mobile, E-mail etc. and to be honest, whilst I had a few offers from fanciers willing to help in all manner of ways, I regret not one single new starter, regardless of age took up the offer. I applaud the basic idea Jimmy...........and will be interested to see how the 'Forum' takes it forward. Paul.
