BLUERON Posted March 30, 2010 Author Report Posted March 30, 2010 thanks mate. if they were a week old and i wanted to swap would they be ok , just with them on floor they may get pick on. the other babies would be same age
Guest IB Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 You can go 2/3 days either way without problems. But I would advise that you swap eggs rather than handle newly hatched youngsters.
BLUERON Posted March 30, 2010 Author Report Posted March 30, 2010 the eggs have hatch mate . but what i trying to say is can i swap babys at a week old
stantheman Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 Ron yes you can swap them over after a week it dont make a difference when you do it all best stan
Guest Owen Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 Can you place a couple of bricks around the nest on the floor to protect the youngsters and stop them climbing out of the nest before they are ready? Next time, I think I would lock them up in the nest box a couple of days before the hen is due to lay. I have never found that youngsters reared on the floor are as good as those reared in a box. In any case, as I fly widowhood, floor nesting would be no use at all.
BLUERON Posted March 30, 2010 Author Report Posted March 30, 2010 thanks you all .have done everthing to get them in box but just wont have it.
