Guest white flight ZA Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Many fanciers here use Red Cell and believe in this product which is actually a race horse supplement. It is a very concentrated vitamin supplement, especially rich in iron, and is given to the pigeons on the Monday before basketing at the rate of 3ml/litre. This is the dosage when used as a stand alone supplement. On the longer distance from about 400 miles it is dynamite if mixed with vitamin B15 (pangamic acid)- the dosage is then of 5g/8 litre of water of vit B15 add to this 5ml Red Cell. To be administered on the Monday and Tuesday before shipping. Dosage is early in the week so that unnecessry thirst is avoided if administered later or just prior to shipping. Many pigeons reduce water intake by up to 20% if their water has a "foreign" supplement in it. It can also be administered over the feed and dried off with Brewers Yeast powder. Use Red Cell once a week during the off season as a supplement, preferably on Wednesday. It should not be available to stock birds pumping young because of the high iron content.

Guest IB Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Red Cell is well known over here. I think Vit B15 is better known here as DMG (Dimethylglycine).
