ps i have pair of chicks about 3 weeks old in the nest the parents are in the same nest box on eggs in another bowl the chicks are eating out of a bowl of corn i put in the nest box daily should i

A take the chicks out of the nest box and put them on a perch i only have an open loft no sections will the older birds bully them

B remove them to another spare nest box for a few weeks and keep them locked in

C leave well a long and let the paremts chase them out when its time to go

If you want to remove from nest box, ideally a spare section is needed,as older birds tend to bully youngsters

As you dont have a spare Section,I would leave them exit from box themselves when ready, bit later maybe, also bit stronger/cuter.

It gets a little easier as you gain more experience, keep it simple and enjoy the birds. Just my opinion

A bit risky newly fledged youngsters on the floor. Ideally a seperate section even for just a couple of weeks, till they learn to be independant, and they can go back on 'open plan' no problem.

when they do leave the nest box put a small cardboard box on the floor cut a door only big enough so they can get in so if they start to get botherd by the older birds they have some where to get out of the way untill they can get a perch ATB les

might be a bit chancy , that , if an old cock manages  in the box it would scalp them , i would tend to just put half bricks along the floor at the back of the loft ,so the yb ,could jump on ,,,,and off if need be,,,,,,,,,,,,but another section is best , but why not leave them where they are :) let nature take its course  :)

with having no sections its only a small loft 8x4 for a few fantails for my grandson jack 18 months and myself but i do want to be taking good care of what we have and other members are trying their hearts out trying to get us some indians and like the posts on this site we are very greatfull as you say natures best i'll try that and watch if they get bullied i'll put them in a spare nest box for a few weeks theres one big red and white cock who rules the loft that i would worry about thanks micko
