Guest geordiejen Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 hi im getting a couple of pair of show racers for breeding and showing.what i want to know is should i put npa rings on them or rpra rings on them?what does the majority of show racer guys put on their birds legs?
pjc Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 Magority have an RPRA show racer ring on one leg and a star & garter ring on the other leg.
Guest geordiejen Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 the next question to that is if i have rpra rings on them and i show them in a npa show would they get challenge certs or is it possible to put both rings on them?does having 2 rings on them reguarded as marking them?
pjc Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 birds with RPRA rings are exceptable in NPA shows and no need for RPRA & NPA rings on a bird.
Guest geordiejen Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 ok mate does it work the other way?what i was thinking is at blackpool all show racers are downstairs in the racing hall but im a member of the npa so i would be putting my birds for show downstairs.how much does it cost a year to join the rpra?ad how much for rings?
pjc Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 Have a look on the RPRA web site as that will tell you what the individual membership fee is.You can show birds at Blackpool as NPA rings are recognised by the RPRA and there are no show racer classes upstairs with the fancy birds. You would probably be better off joining your local show racer society where you can get rings and pay your RPRA fees.
symbol_of_hope Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 I think I paid £5 for 20 rings. Star & Garter only worth bothering if you intend to take the birds to bigger shows really.
