Ron Quinnel Pigeons

hi im a new member just wondered if anyone new of this man and what strain of pigeons he raced he was based in strood in kent and we lost contact many years ago just wonderd if anyone had any of his birds or is he still racing? again his name is Ron Quinnel. plus im a new memnber to the site just got my internet back up and running after being homeless for a while.just moved to tonbridge in kent looking to start pigeon racing on my own i have a limited knowledge and would like to have any help or advice i can get ihave been around pigeons my whole life firstly with my grandfather who raced from chatham pigeon club many years ago he had the old busscaert strains i think from the golden mile cock and the firefly would also be intrested if anyone had any decendants from these and how the get on with them. i was also keen when my dad started racing but after several house moves we had to unfortunatly get rid of our much beloved birds which was heart breaking but life goes on and im wanting to start off myself so how do i go about it.

take it no one remmembers this guy then any who what wouldbe the best way toget into the sport/hobbie ive been intrested my whole life just wanted some much needed advice as i said im from tonbridge in kent so where would my local club be and what would be the local federation i would fly in i only ask because i would like to find out results of races and the distances flown and is there any strain recommendations that anyone can give me or any fanciers to look out for who would be willing to breed me some youngsters once i get the planning permission and lofe is set up thanks regards alsoany dvd or book recommendations

Welcome to Pigeon Basics , best way to find out local clubs would be to contact the R.P.R.A , give your details and ask for clubs in your area , possible join a club and perhaps help an old hand out and get some valuable experience :) heres link for the R.P.R.A

Alternatively you could search through the ring list for 2010 and look for local clubs that way :) but im sure they'll respond soon :)
