i have a few v perches in each section just to let the odd bird 'getaway' if it wants to. don't know if its good/bad thing really. i just put them on the uprights of section. as a novice i found the birds difficult to catch and have gone off them. i only use box perches for ybs..easier to catch,tamer etc. just my opinion though

thanks was just thinking of putting a few in for the hens as well as poles
