Guest newcomer Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 I am about to start making my traps, and I need to know how large the trap hole should be for the pigeon to get through without harming it. I am cutting it into plywood and was thinking of making the hole rectangular and fitting a Bob wire behind each hole. I also think I will cut three of these in each trap, ( young / old bird section ). Any advice on hole size in inches please lol.
Guest homestead Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 you could just cut the 1 hole and put the bob wires next to each other. The amount of bob wires determines the size of the hole.
Guest Owen Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 The best traps are the ones shown on the Small Starter Loft diagramme. They will not allow the birds to land on them unless the trap is open and the birds find them easy to use. Better still, is that they provide air and sun to the birds and they can get a bath in safety. The best thing is that the birds can be clocked very easily using ETS or a conventional clock. I do not know of any trapping system that can trap birds as positively or as quickly.
