I cant help noticing that a lot of trainers are losing thier birds, a lot of birds, why is this?

I assume a lot of the trainers are experianced, so what advice would you give me, no birds yet, on how to minimise the loss of birds?

Thanks

Hiya, I had a dreadful one the other day from 20 miles, finally ended up 33 out of 44. I think you can be as careful as you like but if you luck is out then its out! The only thing I would say is make sure they are healthy, flying well around the loft and have been ranging away from the loft. Take them small stages at a time. I started mine at 6 miles (anything less is merely insulting their intelligence and wasting petrol.) Ensure they are coming well from there and then try 12 miles. I like to double up on the distance when I increase the mileage. Take your time with them. Ensure good weather, good visibility and not a windy day. Avoid Saturdays at all costs what with racing already started.

Good luck with the coming training!
