Guest cosmic dave Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Hi again guys, I am building a small aviary on the side of the loft. Should I put perches in the aviary or would it be wise just to let them walk on the aviary floor ? because the aviary is only small I'm worried about the birds flapping around and breaking feathers :-/
rasbull Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 I would definitely put something for the birds to rest on so they are off the floor. I would probably go a couple of wooden rails at different heights.
owen101 Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 agree with rasbull get a few 2 inch battons or 1 1/2 inch and do it that way make sure different heights and not above eachother directly
blackdog Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 if only small, i would use a few v perches then you dont waste space
DOVEScot Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Pigeons are not ground dwellers they like to sit on a perch or a shelf as they do in the wild, I have both individual perches and shelves in my aviary I used a branch when we built our first aviary
