Guest IB Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 bird was white grizzle now looks like black grizzle what best to get it clean with out damage oil thick from head to toe ' would washing with dish liqid be ok Don't let the bird preen itself, and yes, use a good quality washing up liquid - that's what the rescue centres use on oiled-up seabirds, just a matter of repeat washing and rinsing till you get the oil off. Outside temperatures have taken a dip so you may need to bring the bird indoors till it dries off.
OLDYELLOW Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 yup advice spot on ensure you get the oil off the skin massage liquid in and keep rinsing id wrap up in a towel and sit on a semi warm hot watter bottle so doesnt preen itself also give a charcoal tablet to clean it out as may have ingested some
