BigBobbyBear Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 I am hoping to get late breads in mid August, what is your recomendations for feeding and drinking. Various different methods what do you all think is the best? What if anything should be put in the birds water, i have heard of oxo cubes to sugar?
rasbull Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Don't put anything in the water mate. Maybe once a week add some cider vinegar but apart from that just leave plain water down for them. If they are fed well and they are healthy they will do just fine with this!
JohnQuinn Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Definitely NO oxo cubes in the water, and if you want to get sugars into them, put some honey into a little boiling water until it melts and add that instead of silver spoon As for feeding, there are more ways, and mixtures to use to feed them that it won't make any real difference to your plans, i would suggest you buy ANY Breeding mix as this usually has a good variety of food in it. jmo.
blaz Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 rasbul is right a wee bit cider vinegar once a week.some of us add multi vitamins once a week.which i think is a good thing the better condision you get late breeds in the better the birds will be after winter.the best tip i got when starting with race birds was clean water clean food and clean grit.
blaz Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 when you go to pick birds up ask for a small bag of what the birds have been fed on .that should help a bit
JohnQuinn Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 If you want to, you can visit me any weekend, and i will show you how i keep my birds, and hopefully answer some of your queries while we're at it.
