dai pigeon Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 hey mate i had a nightmare last saturday was well behind.had 8 out of 12 had 1 reported in newcastle and 1 dead in hinkly point power sation was gutted how did you get on.u sending saturdayWe lost five, also way behind, not too bothered about the early races, but can,t afford to keep losing youngsters, ours had been well trained,so must have clashed bigtime,we had youngsters, oldbirds, welsh and GB birds coming back with our birds. We,might give hullavington a miss this week, especially if thier is north in the wind, they tend to end up in Cornwall, and the ybs wont come out of there. All the best if you send m8.
dai pigeon Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 |Thanks for reporting that youngster, picked it up from Nigels,Cheers M8

Guest neil Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 maybe just luck but mine have house telephone numbers on the leg and have been reported within a day or two{normaly the next day},with free landline in the evenings/weekend with most phone packages it costs me nothing to report strays but i have to pay for mobile calls so perhaps this may be a reason some are not being reported direct to the fancier and adding to Gails workload.i have just got back from Phil Payne in Margam to pick up one of two i dropped on Tuesday a round trip of 70 miles but worth the trip(thanks Phil). The benifit of landline numbers are they also help to give the area the pigeon is from,if it has a Swansea code then no point in throwing it up in magor is it,i had a Rhondda bird in yesterday so took it to the national marking station -job done bird now back home thanks to Dave Pugh.We must help each other and unfortunatly mobile numbers could be from anywhere so you are not helping yourselves.regards
Guest tom123 Posted July 10, 2010 Report Posted July 10, 2010 had one in myself from bridgend last thursday in the rain totally washed out a whu 10 b ,done the proper thing and phoned the fancier up (coil phone ring on )he said he would be up for it next day has he was moving house ,guess what? never turned up rang the number again over the weekend a few times ,my expence and time again has one of our members was going down to porthcawl and could have met him off m4 ,number no longer live has hes disconnected it due to move pigeon was here for over a week and still no call about it even up to today ,with all the deaseases around especially with young bird sicknes etc you try to do the right thing get them back asap and save fanciers money and thats the thanks you get , wont bother again ! i`l be throwing them back out
