In the UK, Dewsbury, Northern England, a Fancier Friend has been

Robbed of all his Pigeons,

Ash Mahmood is an experenced  breeder from a large family of Pigeon

Fanciers, he has visited Belgium and Germany twice in 2005  

collecting good birds for his hobby and his families enjoyment, the

other day he went too feed his birds and found his lofts broken

into, his Dog poisioned, all the youngbirds killed and the eggs

smashed and ALL the Adults taken, over 200 birds, the Breeds are

mostley rare or not owned by other breeders in the UK, all are close

rung with mainly German and British rings but some the Gent Croppers

with Belgium rings, it is not conceivable that these birds would be

offered for sale in the UK but most likely Stolen, vertualy 'For

Order' for Export, so anyone in any Country having birds offered or

even 'Booked' from the UK please be aware, Ring numbers can be

supplied, some of the Breeds include;

Gent Croppers,

Gumbinner Tumblers

Berliner Short Face Tumblers(including some good Magpie's)

Carriers

English Magpie Tumblers

Rostower Posture Tumblers (Black-Red-Yellow)

Schmalkaldener Mohrenkopfs (Blue)

Thüringer Goldkafertauben

 

I will send a full list and colours when I know more, I state again,

the chances of these birds turning-up in the UK is slim, it is

almost certain they are destined 'For Export'.

At first Ash thought the attack may have been Racialy motivated but

I am pretty sure that there would have been Dead Pigeons all over

the place, not stolen and the Dog, a Staffordshire (young) would

probably have been taken, not poisioned, also there was I

believe,none of the usual trademarks of Swastika all over the

place, 'Racial Hooligans' tend to want you to know it was them that

have caused  the Grief, also the district Ash lives in  is  

a 'Tolerant' Area, the Family well-known and liked, there have been

Robberies before in the UK, one Southern Breeder, a very successful

breeder of English Nuns, Ice and German Double Crested Trumpeters

being 'Hit' 3 times in one year, in his case, any 'un-rung' Birds

were left, very selective Thievery, as they even took birds to

complete' pairs from the previous break-in!.

also a few years ago a well known Fancier Les Whitaker had Egyptian

Swifts taken many imports and some 'Bloks' the only ones in the

Coutry, these never surfaced again, at least not in the UK.

The Two most likely destinations, or transport routes

other than a 'crooked' Legal exporter would probaly be via France or

Ireland, the destination likely through Holland (some Big Dealers

there) to anywhere, often to unsuspecting buyers.

poor guy i was turned over myself about 3 month ago stole all my birds apart from 1 pair its a horrible feeling, only just started getting some of my new stock settled but its not the same cant even get a decent sleep as every time i hear a noise im up and away checking the loft
