pjc Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 We have received a letter from Awards for All (Wales) to say no grants will be given to pigeon clubs for ETS or Clocks as they do not benefit the comunity they only benefit individuals. Grants may still be provided for transporters etc.I suspect this does not only apply to Wales!
Walter swanston Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 I have every sympathy with your situation.I personally have had both success and failure with Lottery Grants.I obtained a grant for my club for ETS systems but that was some years ago.I have tried and been knocked back three times when applying for The Solway Federation for transporter costs and latterly transporter baskets. You probably have already done this, but it is essential when applying to provide a constitution for your club and the constitution must clearly show that membership is open to everyone in your community (ethnic ninorities can be helpful) if you do not already have a constitution let me know and I will send you one which can be modified for your club.It is also absolutely necessary to show that the whole community in your area benefits from and is seriously interested in Pigeon Racing.A little exaggeration can go a long way here.Do not give up because after all it is our own money,if all else fails pay a personal visit to the Awards for All Office in Glasgow and ask them to explain their decision. I have known this to work.
THE FIFER Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 you must have your own club rules, and on them if the club closes all material from the grant will be given to another similar organisatiom,( NOT DEVIDED TO MEMBERS ) that one is important, also get a local councilor or MP to sign it and give a bit info regarding the benifits the club has to the community,
