Hi all,

I was up and about early this morning and set up fishing by 5:30 at my local drainage ditch - it's nicer than it sounds.

Only caught 1 fish but it was worth it, a 21 lb Common Carp. My first ever double figure Carp, previous biggest having been 9 lb which I caught there 2 days ago lol

She was almost as wide as a Labrador and a very deep fish. I caught her on ledgered halibut pellet.

Certainly a good catch for me, I am not one of these that can sit fishing from dawn to dusk, I prefer short 4 to 5 hour stints.

Only downside is I did not have my camera with me and I do not have a camera mobile phone. A real shame as it is very rare for me not to have the camera with me when I go fishing as I like to photo any of my decent catches and I'll be very lucky to catch another like todays one at all this season.

But none the less it was certainly a very good catch and a good jump into double figure Carp

Below is a pic of the 9 lb carp I caught earlier in the week, he fell to float fished sweet corn.

Fishing again this morning.

19 lb Carp. This time I had my camera.

Caught on free-lined luncheon meat.

Put up a very tough fight much more so than Sundays one and had me 30ft along the bank before he came to the net 10 minutes later
