ginge Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 hi all about a year ago i noticed next doors gutter was holdin water, all the wild birds plus my birds ,would drink from it,anyway my birds startin comin from the race, straight to there gutter.so i asked them kindly if i could unblock it, in which they did,but noticed it need adjustin cos the water wasnt running down it,so they called the company out to sort it out,......anyway the gutter is still the same, and 2weeks ago i lost a race because of it.....ive since then asked the neighbours if it could be sorted out again, but now they just think im being nit picky, ive even offered to pay for it doin myself because its causin me such a headache.....any ideas ladsin my younger days i would of gone about it the wrong way and probably end up damageing it sumhow lol,air rifle maybe? lol ,but tryin to do things the right way and so we dont fall out
gd Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 the problem is you have lost control of your birds - nothing to do with your neighbour , keep them off the roof or you will continue to lose races , if you must move the gutter (but this is not the problem) suggest getting someone in to do it at your cost with your neighbours permission.. but don't be surprised if they tell you to do one.....
ginge Posted June 16, 2010 Author Report Posted June 16, 2010 lost control? wouldnt say that m8,how do u keep ur birds going down for water on red hot days?
BLUERON Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 try telling them how much damage it dos to there house by haveing a block up gutter.but i think now because you have told them about your pigeons the might not belive you.but if you have offer to pay to have it sorted i can not unstand why they would say no?good luck with it but try to keep them on side
gd Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 lost control? wouldnt say that m8,how do u keep ur birds going down for water on red hot days? I chuck a ball at them on a length of string they soon get the idea - either in the air on in the loft,, I do allow them to roof for the first week or so as y/b but after that use the ball to keep them up,, good luck with them
OLDYELLOW Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 if you had some trapping mix with white dari they'd soon trap , but as been said if you throw a ball up at birds they will stop landing on your roof , problem then could be is they move further up the street
ginge Posted June 16, 2010 Author Report Posted June 16, 2010 thanks guys for ur replies, yea il throw a ball up wen they do,theres only four other houses on my row,and they are ok,so this will probably work, yea i need to keep the neighbours on my side,it just gets frustratin,as u can imagine
Guest spin cycle Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 thanks guys for ur replies, yea il throw a ball up wen they do,theres only four other houses on my row,and they are ok,so this will probably work, yea i need to keep the neighbours on my side,it just gets frustratin,as u can imagine good for you trying to fix this the right way, especially as i can imagine how frustrating it is. how about making an open drinker out of a small piece of gutter and having it on your trap so when the birds hit the board after training they can drink...once used to this move the drinker inside the trap...may even improve your trapping perhaps? good luck
