Right Lads and Lasses, just to put you all on the right path.

Indian Fantails are medium in size with large tails and muffs on there legs.

Exhibition Fantail, are smaller bodied, have thweir heads down behind there chests with large tails and are clean legged.

Garden Fantails are free flying with scalloped tails, usually seen around Dovcotes and only come in White, anything else is a Xbreed.

U ARE TALKING ABOUT THE SHOW BIRDS RULES BUT THE ONES PEOPLE KEEP IN THEIR GARDENS, BLACK BLUE WHITE ARE THEY NOT GARDEN FANTAILS, ITS JUST LIKE RACING PIGEONS, RACERS AND SHOW RACERS, THE SHOW BIRDS DO NOT RACE BUT ARE STILL CALLED RACERS.

i have 4 new fantails, i was told they were indian, but one hen is (beautiful) smaller and has her head so far down her back sometimes you can only see her chest and legs, so am i right in thinking that she is an exhibition fantail ? the others have lovely fanned tails but no muffs i think they are perhaps not pure bread indians?

i think im starting to actually know what im doing !!!!

Yes Samantha, she sounds like an exhibition fantail. The others are more than likely the poor quality fantails that fifer refers to as garden fantails. These would be better described as pet fantails.

The NPA show at Blackpool is their only show and it is the first time that they have run their own show.
