i had some in the 80s i got them from abbott bros in thuxton who sold fancy pigeons in the exchange and mart . does any one keep damascenes themselves as there one and only breed ? also who sells them thanks lc

i dont no much about them but id say the one with tweo birds could be  old birds n the one in the nest is a yb dont wuote me cos i probably am wrong im just saying what i think.but i normally have problems sexing fancy breeds

DAMASCENE: A very old breed from the Middle-East, rich in history, depicted on Papyri' and Tombe paintings from Pharonic Egypt, traditionaly ALWAYS 'Ice' colour with a dark charcoal under colour, Ruby-red eyes & double blue/black eye cere', beak, black, almost triangular.

 

Barely medium size, a bird of gentle 'curves' Oval/round head, slight 'Dewlap' on mature males, well filled breast, impression of a 'squat' well boned bird. Very intelligent and tame.
