Lance Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 I bought these birds a few days ago, the guy said they were "flyers", but either way I just liked them, and they were fairly cheep. Now my question is, can anybody identify them? They're close to a month old, maybe a little more. Anybody know what they are?

velo99 Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 Looks like a roller. Most high flyers carry the wings below the tail . Birms however carry a lot like the pix. Then again they could be mutts. Don`t know till ya let em out and see what they do. good luck m8 nice looking birds.
Guest Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 Velo, what is the bird on your avatar, is it a New York Domestic Show flight ?????
velo99 Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 He is a Birmingham Roller. His name is Fweeps or The Fweepster. My wife fed him for a week or ten days when he was a chick. Now he is a big old deep rolling cockbird. The image is skewed and makes him look a little weird
Guest Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 Thanks Velo, looked like a flight the way he was standing, must be the image
westy Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 what does it say on the rings they have on.
Lance Posted December 3, 2006 Author Report Posted December 3, 2006 what does it say on the rings they have on. NPA KTC 8 06 52... Not nessicarily in that order.
westy Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 normall the rings stand for the type of pigeon it is, i dont what this ring stands for other migth know.
rosebowl Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 npa rings r a all round fancy pigeons there beaks r a bit long for rollers but cold be some sort of roller but its defently not a birmingham roller they r smaller than them :-/
THE FIFER Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 i think they are a cross between a high flyer and tumblers, beaks a bit long for my liking.
THE FIFER Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 NPA KTC 8 06 52... Not nessicarily in that order.[/quo KTC could be something, tumbler club. as rc stands for roller club on their rings, and the first letter their club.
Guest beautyhomer Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 NPA KTC 8 06 52... Not nessicarily in that order. National Pigeon Association Komorner Tumbler Club 8mm in diameter 06 year bred 52 individual number This is an american ring
Lance Posted December 3, 2006 Author Report Posted December 3, 2006 Komorner Tumbler Now that's a cool bird. What makes a tumbler different then a roller?
Guest coxy Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 your birds look like new york domestic flights and with you comming from across the pond it all makes sense
THE FIFER Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Now that's a cool bird. What makes a tumbler different then a roller? it tumbles ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Lance Posted December 3, 2006 Author Report Posted December 3, 2006 it tumbles ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I've seen some videos of birmingham rollers, they look pretty tumbly to me... What kind of tumbling do tumblers do... exactly?

Guest Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 Not sure what you mean Coxy, I know for a fact the NYDSF's are kept in the UK. do I detect a hint of sarcasm here
