pigeonman007 Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 Hi all,I have noticed that my young birds occasionally have watery droppings, these are either clear or clear with a white centre. This is usually for a couple of hours before and a couple of hours after feeding time. The rest of the day their droppings are nice and dry and more or less roll of the perches.I have checked inside their beaks and none of them show any signs of canker. They are all flying ok around the loft and are beating me back from 6-8mile training dropsIs this anything to be concerned about or am I right in thinking it is just because their crop is empty and after feeding it takes a couple of hours for the corn to start working through?

pigeonman007 Posted May 26, 2010 Author Report Posted May 26, 2010 Mornings they get a small amount of aniseed smelling tonic mix, evening 70% Beans, Maples & Tares mix 30% Barley
paullock Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 Some of my birds droppings will go to water if I feed any % of barley. Paulo
Guest IB Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 I'm not sure what your 'tonic mix' is, but small seeds tend to loosen the droppings while beans, peas etc tend to firm them up.
