velo99 Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 Hi Sharon, Yes there is a roller club or three in your counrty. The competetion consists of a kit of 20 rollers performing in concert for a period of 20 minutes. Scores are based on the number or birds that roll to an adequate standard per "turn". A turn is when 5 or more "break" and perfrom simultaneously. The multiplier is added at the end of the fly period. It is based on quality and depth or roll ie... 1.4 and 1.4 x a "raw score" of 122. Score would 341.6. I am from the States and not really familiar with the clubs in Uk. In know of there are several, should be easy to find.

gangster Posted March 26, 2007 Report Posted March 26, 2007 there are a lot of roller clubs up north as well, they are usually flown in kits of 22 the judges and other competitors usually go from 1 loft to another to view them flying i think they get a 10 minute warm up then they start to judge them on quality and quantity of rolls and ideally they roll together..then after the time has elapsed they count up the total then move on 2 the next lofts......i watched my mates being judged for the world championships............
Chatrace Posted March 26, 2007 Report Posted March 26, 2007 They should be trained to roll on command. Some of the flyers here use drums and cymbals to get them to roll all together. after you watch them for a while you know when they are forming up for the roll,so when they start to form you start a drum roll and when you stop and hit the cymbals they will all roll. Some just use a whistle.
velo99 Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 Hey Chatrace, Thats pretty funny man. If you bang a drum in comp you get the big DQ. Now we just let em roll. If you get lucky the neighbors car will backfire or his kid will slam the lid on the dumpster. Musta been from the old days. If you have any questions about roller competetion go to http://www.nbrconline.com v99
gangster Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 I DONT THINK THATS THE WAY HERE..YOUD GET DISQ IF YOU TRIED THAT...........
Chatrace Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 ya have to get the neighbor kids to do it on competion day. You just have to train them. give the kids a few bucks to play out in there yard :-)
