Does anyone use this and if so why and how much of it.

sure do, used to put  two tablespoons in a five pint drinker once a week, helps keep birds healthy in the gut as it kills a lot of bacteria , and now i just get a bottle and put three cloves of garlic in the bottle and put a corkfull in a five pint drinker twice a week , a tip given by rooster on pigeonland

How big is the vinegar bottle and do you put the cloves in whole or crush them :-/
