Would you use Paratyphus for Salmonellosis and would you give it to Healthy Youngsters who have previously been vaccinated for Paramyxo and would there be any side effects. <_<

Paratyphus is caused by a bacteria called Salmonella Typhimurium ,can't understand why you would want to give them Paratyphus for Salmonella when Paratyphus is caused by Salmonella  ,have you maybe written the wrong thing down Andy ?

At one stage I was very sure of myself in regard to dealing with Paratyphus. You simply vaccinated with the appropriate vaccine. Nothing could be simpler. Since then I have had my doubts because the vaccines sold are not targeted properly and, wiser people than me, have said that the disease can hide in cells of the body only to reappear later. Then you have to choose between dead or live vaccines. The live vaccine is, without doubt, very dangerous stuff and needs to be handled very carefully. And when you use it the pigeons can be seen to have suffered from it,s impact. On the other hand the dead vaccine has to be used twice to get it to have enough impact on the bird's imune system. My problem is that I do not know how to check the effectiveness of these vaccines.

On the Continent the practice is to treat the birds with antibiotics for a full ten days to eliminate ther disease from their systems to give them a clean start at least once a year. This treatment is done at the same time as viricide distinfectants are used to thoroughly clean the loft to avoid the risk of reinfection. So, for me, I will leave well alone until I can be convinced that it actually works and does not result in lasting damage.
