Competition

Competition, we all need this to race without competition we would not be able to race our pigeons. Where I live in North Wales years ago we had one federation about 5 years ago, then the 'back lads' decided to form a new fed(Ereri). and fair play this fed took off. Most of the members in that fed are dual members to the federation i fly in (North wales Coast Fed). the Ereri federation fly inder WHU rules and are members of the Welsh South East Combine, who fly in conjunction with the national. most members of the coast fed are members of the national but are not members of the combine because our fed is not afflitated to it. there are only 3 clubs in the coast fed that can't get into the ereri fed so when we fly in the national we can't compete for combine honours even though our birds are on the same wagons been liberated at the same time etc. so we can have 10 birds in front of them, but they can still beat us in the combine. (hope your following me)

so this year our fed decided to apply to join the combine this would then make it fair for everyone. in the fed meeting the delegates (who are dual members) agreed that it would be a good idea for the coast fed to do this. so the fed sec would then write and apply.

clubs in the combine then have a meeting and a vote on this, and from what i have been told, dual members of our own federation VOTED AGAINST us getting in!!!!why because they dont want us in the combine as we will kick their little asses from here to the moon. what they have done is stab us in the back. there response to the meeting was, there is no need for them to join, if they want to fly in the combine they can join the erieri federation, but what they didnt tell the members that there are 3 clubs that cant join as they are 'out of the boundary' why because they are scared of competition. what is pigeon racing comeing to.

When i went down the the presentation of the WSENFC i made enquires about joining the combine, got tel number sof oficials, thought i would make some head way. all i had when i went to meetings at club level was ' who are you to go and have meetings in presentation nights' mjy response, ' if fanciers are going to be like that we might as well go home and dispose of all our birds and take up tiddly winks' as the sport is not moving forward fanciers are scared of been beat. i have a good mind of going to the next meeting telling all these people what i think, and they can take me to the region for all i care ban me do what they like, coz at the end of the day it will be there loss and not mine.

In north wales we have 2 wagons on the land going to near enough the same lib sites each week with half empty wagons. i feel like going to the meeting and banging the oficials heads together knock some common sense into them. we wouldnt even have to be on the same result sheet if they didnt want, we could have 2 fed results and then a combine result of our own, but ohhh no, all you get is ' the drag will be there the drag will be there' all im trying to say is people are trying to make flying better, cheaper more interesting, but fanciers wont have it and they wonder why people are leaving
