Guest Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 Don't usually read newspapers, but photo and caption on front page of today's Edinburgh Evening News caught my eye: "What a to-doo". Reckon the picture is three images rolled into one ... a 'digital composite' ? and depicts a woman in Princes Street Gardens in the heart of Edinburgh wearing a 'bird-flu' mask, with two pigeons apparently flying overhead. Story inside on page 3 is irrelevant to this post ... Edinburgh shop trying to cash in on bird flu scares to sell masks which are useless for this purpose.. DOO is Scots for racing pigeon. Cushie-doo is a wood pigeon, feral or streeter is a street pigeon ... others may wish to correct my definitions. I intend to send the photo & article to the SHU. Maybe needs a press release up here too? letters page email address is: letters_en@edinburghnews.com
