took me youngens off me widowhood cocks the first of this month whats your views on repairing them back up to sit eggs for 7-10 days while  i train them back to the nest me loft is nearly all yearlings and if so when you think the best time to pair them back up :)

This is what I do Sean, I repair them 3 weeks B4 your intended first race and train the cocks back to the hens (on nice days only) and only let the cocks out, so every time they go out the hens are in the loft waiting for them. Only let them sit for seven days MAX, otherwise they will throw their flights too early in the season!!!

ive done that before this year i havnt my cocks are now on the widowhood let out once a day to exercise & train pm on good days not seeing hen till week before first race should get around 30 tosses before first race

30 tosses before first race!!! dont you think that could burn them out a bit?or will tey race the full programme after 30 tosses before the first race?

Cant really see the point in training so many times just to try and win a 60 odd mile race, widowhood pigeons get themselves fit and only need a few reminder tosses. I won our first race two years ago with not a single training toss, and the same pigeon won a channel race that year (i.e. I used the racing as training). I think you will sicken them giving them 30 tosses.

are but the tosses are from 5miles working upto 12miles week befor racing & only on nice days & they only come out am & do 45mins & yeah will go right through the race programme with winning results i paired far later than normal this year all young weaned & single reared all coming together nicely now
