Guest Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 Has anyone tried using this for clearing the nasal passages? If so how do you administer it etc?
Mike Lycett Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 Stephen Not used it, but its the same kinda thing as "Brux" - although Brux had a better reputation to be honest. Just smear a little Brux at the end of the nostyrils & they breathe it in. Supposed to sort out "head colds" etc.... Whether or not that is believable is a matter of personal opinion :X :
Guest Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 Never heard of Brux, is it readily available from a pharmacy etc. or is it a pigeon product?
Guest shadow Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 Olbas Oil works well for clearing nasal passages "Shadowood Lofts"
Guest Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 Shadow, would you use it on the birds or just a drop in the box?
Mike Lycett Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 Brux is definitely for pigeons - can't remember who manufacturers it though leave it with me mate
Guest shadow Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 Shadow, would you use it on the birds or just a drop in the box? you can put a drop in each box or on each bird near the nostrils
jimmy white Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 was told to try naseline on birds , tried it on myself first ,,eyes wattered and nose ran all day after, would not use it on pigeons, if your ventilation is right ,my thoughts are you shouldnt need anything like that, no nothing about brux, but i know fresh airs cheaper ;D
Guest Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 The ventilation seems to be perfect at the moment, I was just covering every track for the coming season, as I was caught out last season with a bit of respitory in my widowhoods, which rendered them useless by the time I had realised. Cheers, Stephen
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 NEVER USED NASALINE BUT THE MEDICATED CREOSOTE YOU BUY FROM PIGEON SUPPLIERS IS GREAT FOR PREVENTING BREATHING PROBLEMS. [THIS IS JUST MY OWN EXPERIENCE ].
Guest Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 NEVER USED NASALINE BUT THE MEDICATED CREOSOTE YOU BUY FROM PIGEON SUPPLIERS IS GREAT FOR PREVENTING BREATHING PROBLEMS. [THIS IS JUST MY OWN EXPERIENCE ]. Wondered what medicated creosote was??

Guest TAMMY_1 Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 HI BRUNO THE MEDICATED CREOSOTE I USED IS BOUGHT IN SMALL CONCENTRATED BOTTLES FROM THE PIGEON PHARMACY ADVERTISED IN BRITISH HOMING WORLD EVERY WEEK, IT WORKS ON THE SAME PRINCIPLE AS THE ORDINARY GARDEN CREOSOTE BUT IS SPECIALLY FORMULATED TO USE IN PIGEON LOFTS.THE LUGOLS IODINE IS DIFFERENT ALLTOGETHER YOU JUST ADD THE LUGOLS IODINE IN THE WATER DRINKERS. AT THE START OF THE SEASON I SOMETIMES USE ORDINARY GARDEN CREOSOTE ON MY YOUNG BIRD LOFT BUT LONG BEFORE I PUT ANY BIRDS IN BECAUSE IT HAS TO HAVE DRIED RIGHT IN AND IT CERTAINLY HELPS KEEP EVERYTHING AWAY FROM THE LOFTS. [EVEN THE BIRDS ON A .RACEDAY ]
fredspears44 Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 HOW DO YOU USE THE MED/CREOSOTE PLEASE
jimmy white Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 lugols solution is not used exclusively for the same problem if you look up lugols solution, it will give you all the info you need [ aquas iodine very old remedy]
Marky5 Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 I use a product namely endrine from belgium it smells like eucalyptus , i use before the first old bird race and then every week on a wednesday it is similar to nasaline. Endrine is obtainable from a chemist in ostend near belgium close to the docks it costs about £3.00 per small bottle but lasts on average a season.
jimmy white Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 remember folks , theres another article under,,, health,,, drops in the nostrils,,
Guest Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 Eucalyptus essential oil can be purchased from I think if my memory serves me correctly from Holland and Barrett ???? A few drops on a piece of cloth tacked to the wall will suffice.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 TO FREDSPEARS44, A 20ML CONCENTRATED BOTTLE OF MED/CREOSOTE COSTS JUST UNDER £10 AND YOU ADD 1 OR 2 DROPS TO A GALLON OF WATER.THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE ONE SIMILAR BUT MIXED WITH OTHER ITEMS AND IS ABIT CHEAPER.AND I WOULD LIKE TO CORRECT A MISTAKE I MADE IT IS SUPPLIED BY MEDITECH WHO ADVERTISE IN THE BHW. AND NOT THE PIGEON PHARMACY
